COLUMBUS —Ohio Department of Insurance Director Mary Jo Hudson has announced that the Department web site address will now be http://www.insurance.ohio.gov. The old address, http://www.ohioinsurance.gov, will remain active for a several months but will eventually be shut down in place of the new address.
“We made this change to make our web site address easier for Ohioans to remember and to bring it in line with the rest of the state agencies,” said Director Hudson.
A new feature of the Department’s web site will be the addition of a powerful new search engine. This robust feature will allow visitors to the site to search all pages and documents using key words, which will allow the visitor to find more information on their topic of choice. Ohioans will be able to get valuable insurance information and tips by visiting the web site. They’ll also be able to find a licensed insurance agent or agency, file a complaint and report fraud.
Ohio insurance consumers with questions and concerns about their insurance can call the Department’s consumer hotline at 1-800-686-1526. Free information can also be obtained at www.insurance.ohio.gov.
